What myth/ mythology fascinates you the most and way?

    A fascinating topic argued about on a daily by people of various cultures is whether supernatural elements exist. The simple answer is yes. Through the many different types of paranormal activities, there is only a certain amount one can blame on coincidence. Though many people tend to shy away from understanding the supernatural realm, as a society we have believed in this element for hundreds of years through religious beliefs. Three in four Americans believe there is some sort of supernatural element, which is why we continue to research this topic heavily.

    In my own life, I have heard and seen firsthand of possessions of family members in both India and America. It is believed that in certain places in the villages of India, Pepal trees are home to many spirits. In their myth, if you say any variation of "come on" along that area of the tree, spirits will attach themselves to you in the belief that you invited them. One of my great-aunts was calling her husband saying let's go we are running when they took a break for food near a Pepal tree as they were headed back to Gujrat from to trip to Mumbai. Once they reached home her husband went to the restroom to go clean off as my aunt began to cook for everyone in the house. It is known that women in India wear traditional clothes like a Sari to cover themselves. Out of nowhere, her behavior changed as she began to undrape herself and yell rubbish at everyone present. She kept saying "I am Komal and I want some sheera (an Indian sweet) I won't leave until you have fed me." The only issue was my aunt's name was Amina, not Komal, so who was this person and why were they here. As the other women cooked the sweet, they brought over a spiritual doctor to communicate to the spirit who told them that my aunt was the one who invited her and she refused to leave until she had been fed. The minute she was fed my aunt went unconscious and woke up an hour later with no recollection of what happened in the past hour.

    The idea of supernatural aspects fascinates me because I have heard so many stories and seen the proof that something beyond us does exist. There is another realm made of the wandering spirits that are searching for peace who choose to find it through the use of the living people. Though we may not have much proof through pictures and videos, there is no way everything is a mere coincidence. There is an element that we may not grasp a full understanding of, but that does not mean it is not present.
